Women’s of Wisdom

March 8th @ 7 PM

Monthly Woman of Wisdom meeting led by Pastor Angie.

In Luke 10:38-44 we find a woman, by the name of Martha, whom is overly occupied, too busy, distracted, anxious and troubled about many things.  I think this is a pretty good picture of many women today.  God, however, never meant our lives to be overly occupied, too busy, and full of distractions and troubles.  Eph. 2:10 in the amplified Bible says, “For we are God’s (own) handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, (born anew) that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us (taking paths which He prepared ahead of time) that we should walk in them (living the good life which He arranged and made ready for us to live).

God has a wonderful life planned for each one of us, but many live and die and never walk the path of his perfect will because they fail to find out enough about Him to cooperate with His plan.  Prov. 4:5-7 tells us that Godly wisdom is the principle thing! Godly wisdom is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God. It is this wisdom that will affect all other areas of our lives.  In Luke 10 we see that Martha has a sister named Mary who we find sitting at Jesus’ feet listening to His teachings. Jesus makes this comment to Martha, “Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; there is need of only one or but for a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion (that which is to her advantage), which shall not be taken from her.”
